TalkChief Cowork integrates conferencing directly into the channels and direct messages where your team already works. Rather than copying a meeting link into a separate app, you start a call right from the conversation that prompted it — keeping participants, context, and follow-up notes in one place. Whether you are hopping on a quick one-on-one or running a multi-participant team meeting, Cowork has you covered without ever leaving the app.

One-Click Conference Calls

Start a conference call from any channel or DM using the call controls built into the conversation toolbar. There is no external conferencing app to open, no meeting link to paste, and no calendar invite required for ad-hoc calls. Participants already in the channel receive an in-app notification and can join with a single click. One-click calls are ideal for:
  • Turning a fast-moving text thread into a live conversation
  • Running a standing team sync without a separate meeting tool
  • Escalating a support or sales discussion the moment it needs live voice

Screen Sharing

Once you are in a conference call, share your screen to give participants a live view of your work. Screen sharing supports full-screen, application window, and browser tab modes on desktop platforms. Use it for:
  • Demos — walk a customer or colleague through a product or feature in real time
  • Troubleshooting — show an issue rather than describe it
  • Collaborative review — step through a document, design, or code with your team
Start sharing at any point during the call from the in-call toolbar. Participants do not need any additional permissions to view your shared screen.

Calling from a Channel

Moving from a text conversation to a live call in Cowork takes one click — and when you do, the call stays anchored to that channel. Participants can see the channel thread while on the call, so everyone has the same context without having to recap what was already written. After the call ends, any recordings or AI-generated summaries are posted back into the same channel thread, completing the full loop from conversation to call to follow-up. This tight integration means your team never has to ask “where did we discuss that?” — the answer is always in the channel where the call was started.

Recording a Meeting

Record any conference call to give absent team members access to what was discussed, or to create a reference for complex decisions. Recordings are stored and accessible through your TalkChief dashboard under the relevant channel or call history. Before recording, keep the following in mind:
  • Inform participants — in many jurisdictions you are legally required to notify all parties that a call is being recorded. Verify the rules that apply to your location and industry.
  • Review your organization’s recording policy — your TalkChief administrator may have set rules about which calls can be recorded and who can access recordings.
  • Retention — recording retention duration is governed by your plan and workspace configuration.

Start a Conference Call from a Channel

1

Open the Channel

Navigate to the channel or direct message in TalkChief Cowork from which you want to start the call.
2

Click the Call Icon

Select the phone or video icon in the channel toolbar at the top of the conversation. TalkChief immediately opens a conference room tied to that channel.
3

Invite Participants

Add participants from the invite panel. Everyone you invite receives an in-app notification and can join the call directly from their TalkChief app.
4

Share Your Screen (Optional)

During the call, click Share Screen in the in-call toolbar and choose the screen, window, or tab you want to share with participants.
5

End the Call

Click End Call when you are finished. If AI summaries are enabled for your workspace, a summary of the call — including key points, action items, sentiment, intent, and any escalation alerts — is automatically posted back to the channel thread.
Enable AI-powered post-call summaries to automatically surface decisions and action items in your channel after every meeting. See AI Summaries and Actions for setup instructions and available summary formats.
Conferencing capabilities vary by platform. Screen sharing and recording are fully supported on Windows and macOS. iOS and Android support audio and video participation; screen sharing from mobile may be limited depending on your device and operating system version. Browser-based participants can join calls and share screens in supported modern browsers. Check the TalkChief release notes for the latest per-platform feature availability.
