The TalkChief Power Dialer is a structured outbound calling tool designed for teams that need to work through a contact list in an organized, agent-controlled way. Sales teams use it for follow-up sequences, customer success teams use it for check-in calls, and operations teams use it for appointment reminders and surveys. Every call in a Power Dialer campaign is initiated by the agent — giving your team full control over pace, tone, and context before each conversation begins.
TalkChief’s Power Dialer is a human-operated tool. Agents manually initiate each call from the contact list. TalkChief does not offer automatic dialing, predictive dialing, or any mode that places calls without an agent’s explicit action. If you require automatic or predictive dialing, that capability is outside the scope of TalkChief’s platform.

How the Power Dialer Works

When you launch a Power Dialer campaign, TalkChief loads a pre-built contact list into a dedicated agent workspace. Agents move through the list at their own pace: they review the contact’s details and any notes attached to the record, then click Dial to place the call. After each call, the agent logs an outcome, adds notes, and decides when to move to the next contact. This human-in-the-loop approach is well suited for:
  • Sales follow-up — agents can review previous interaction history before dialing so every conversation feels personal.
  • Appointment reminders — confirm or reschedule appointments with customers who need a live confirmation.
  • Surveys and feedback calls — conduct structured outbound surveys where the agent guides the caller through a script.
  • Customer success outreach — proactive check-in calls that require context and nuance.
Because no call is ever placed automatically, you avoid the compliance risks and poor caller experience associated with robocalling and autodialers.

Setting Up a Campaign

1

Prepare your contact list

Compile the list of contacts you want to call. TalkChief accepts a CSV upload (name, phone number, and any custom fields such as account ID or notes) or a CRM sync if your CRM is connected via an integration. Make sure phone numbers are in E.164 format (for example, +14155550199) to avoid dialing errors. Navigate to Contact Center > Power Dialer > Campaigns and click New Campaign, then upload or import your list.
2

Assign agents to the campaign

In the campaign settings, add the agents who will work through the contact list. You can assign the full list to a single agent or distribute contacts across multiple agents. When multiple agents are assigned, each contact is reserved for one agent at a time to prevent duplicate calls.
3

Configure outbound caller ID

Choose the caller ID that will be displayed to recipients. Select Fixed Caller ID to use a single number for all calls in the campaign, or enable Dynamic Caller ID to automatically select a local or region-matched number based on the contact’s area code. Dynamic Caller ID typically improves answer rates because the number appears local to the recipient.
4

Brief agents on the campaign script and notes

Before starting the campaign, share any relevant scripts, talking points, or objection-handling guidance with your agents. You can attach a script or briefing document directly to the campaign — agents will see it in their dialer workspace alongside each contact’s details.
5

Start the campaign

Click Launch Campaign. Agents assigned to the campaign will see it appear in their Power Dialer workspace. Each agent opens the workspace, reviews the first contact, and clicks Dial when ready. The campaign runs until all contacts have been reached, skipped, or marked for follow-up.

During a Campaign

While a campaign is active, each agent works inside the Power Dialer workspace. The workspace displays:
  • Contact details — name, phone number, company, and any custom fields from your contact list or CRM.
  • Campaign notes and script — the briefing you attached during setup, always visible alongside the contact record.
  • Call controls — mute, hold, warm transfer, and end-call buttons are available throughout every call.
  • Outcome logging — after each call, the agent selects an outcome (Reached, No Answer, Left Voicemail, Callback Requested, Not Interested, and any custom outcomes you define) and optionally adds a free-text note.
  • Next contact — once an outcome is logged, the agent clicks Next to advance to the following contact in the list at their own pace.
Agents can also use Warm Transfer during a Power Dialer call to brief a colleague or specialist before handing off the caller, ensuring a seamless handover experience.

Campaign Analytics

After a campaign ends — or at any point while it is running — you can review performance in Contact Center > Power Dialer > Reports. Available metrics include:
  • Completion rate — the percentage of contacts in the list that have been called at least once.
  • Call outcomes breakdown — a count and percentage of each outcome type (Reached, No Answer, Left Voicemail, and so on).
  • Agent performance — calls placed, average call duration, and outcomes logged per agent.
  • Call duration distribution — histogram of call lengths to identify outliers and coaching opportunities.
  • Callback queue — contacts flagged for a follow-up call, with scheduled callback times where applicable.
You can export any report to CSV for further analysis or share it directly with your team from the dashboard.
Enable Dynamic Caller ID on outbound campaigns to match the area code of the number being dialed. Studies consistently show that calls from a local or recognizable number have significantly higher answer rates than calls from an unfamiliar out-of-area number. You can configure this under Campaign Settings > Caller ID when creating or editing a campaign.
